Contracting & Industrial Sponsored Research Officer
This position is responsible for the review and negotiation of terms and conditions forfederal and non-federal contracts and other non- financial agreements associated with sponsorship of research, instruction and extension/outreach efforts of the university. The position works across multiple constituencies and sponsors and must possess a skill set to work with speed and accuracy in varied assignments that are likely to be multi-party, complex, time sensitive, and high profile. The position will serve as the primary point of contact with the Office of Legal Counsel for all contracting matters. Successful execution requires extensive communication, coordination and collaboration across many levels of the university. The individual in this position will work closely with colleges through their offices of research administration, with the Office of Legal Counsel, OSU Grants and Contracts Financial Administration, and the OSU Technology Development Center.
Master's degree is required. The ideal candidate must have at least three years of experience in contract negotiation, within an industrial setting, governmental setting, or academic environment. OSU prefers an individual with a Juris Doctorate and legal training with substantial experience with contracting in the governmental and private sectors.
