Fortune 100 company, has an immediate opening for a solid news reporter. In our quest for a star, we are seeking an ambitious, energetic, versatile bulldog to cover breaking news and
produce quality enterprise stories and features for the newspaper and our website, scnow.com. The journalist selected will be assigned a beat, so the ability to develop sources and cover a specific area is essential. Because the Morning News and SCNow.com report news around the clock, candidates must be committed to the philosophy that news gathering is a "24/7" process, and multimedia skills are a must.
Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Photoshop as well as some knowledge of software programs that aid in posting to the web. Must be willing to learn new things, be flexible and able to adapt and grow with the job. Must be able to take
photographs and shoot video to accompany stories or be willing to learn. A valid driver's
license, access to a reliable vehicle, proof of auto insurance and the ability to cover
assignments at night or on weekends is required.
A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related discipline is preferred. Experience working in a digital newsroom is a plus. Two years of small- to mid-sized newspaper experience is

The Morning News, a Bershire Hathaway Co. newspaper, is published daily and Sunday in Florence, S.C., to serve the Pee Dee.
The first edition of the newspaper, the Weekly News and Review, appeared on March 18, 1922. Its immediate predecessor was the Florence News and Review, and its name was later changed to the Morning News Review.
In February 1928 it purchased the Florence Daily Times and the name was changed to the Florence Morning News.
The Florence Morning News was purchased by Thomson Newspapers in December 1981, was sold to Media General of Richmond, Va., in 2000 and to BH Media in 2012.
