What you’ll do:
When you join the Automobile Club of Southern California as a Claims Representative – Special Investigations Unit, you’re bringing your expertise to a best-in-class organization that is focused on delivering quality service to our members. As an Associate within our Claims department you will:
This position is responsible for the handling of potential fraudulent Claims related investigations
Duties include reviewing and investigating suspicious activity in insurance transactions and claim files to ensure coverage is properly enforced when known red flags exist
Develops and implements investigation strategies and provides guidance and strategic recommendations to management for the handling, strategy, consistency and resolutions of claims based on extensive knowledge of Policy and Procedures along with applicable laws and regulations
Investigations may include casualty, theft and homeowners claims
Following each investigation, a formal investigative report is prepared and submitted to Claims Management and the California Department of Insurance
Demonstrates discretion when investigating complex and unique claims
What you’ll bring:
Four year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
Evidence of continuing education (i.e. industry designations) desired.
Additional skills include
Demonstrates aptitude for effective interviewing techniques preferably in a field environment.
Effective skills conducting strong investigations in either auto or property lines of business.
Adaptive learning skills for social media and background searches.
Desire for continuing education and pursuit of industry designations desired.
Knowledge and ability to utilize some internal operating platforms during investigations (Claims Portal, HUON, MRM, ERS).
Effective use of Microsoft Word.
Efficient time management and work load skills
